Abstract
From Connected Assets to Industrial Intelligence: Edge-to-Cloud IoT for Energy Systems
Industrial IoT is moving beyond connectivity and data collection toward distributed systems capable of turning field data into operational intelligence.
This talk presents an industry-driven perspective based on real-world projects across gas, electricity and renewable energy infrastructures. It will show how modern edge-to-cloud architectures can integrate heterogeneous field technologies while keeping application logic independent from specific devices and industrial protocols.
The discussion will focus on three key architectural principles: protocol abstraction and data normalization, event-driven communication between edge and cloud, and local processing through analytics and AI.
Through practical examples, the talk will illustrate how these patterns support use cases such as asset monitoring, anomaly detection, operational optimization and distributed intelligence, while addressing the scalability and interoperability requirements typical of industrial environments.
The objective is to share the engineering approach behind our Industrial IoT platform and the lessons learned from applying these architectural patterns to complex energy systems.
