PhD Forum
The IEEE SWC 2026 PhD Forum provides PhD students with a dedicated platform to present publishable results from their ongoing research and discuss them with leading experts from academia and industry. The Forum offers students a unique opportunity to receive constructive feedback, build valuable connections, and explore future career paths in the research community.
During a dedicated poster session, PhD students will have the opportunity to discuss their research, exchange ideas, and network with congress attendees.
Eligibility
The PhD Forum is open to all PhD students registered for the IEEE SWC 2026 conference. Participants are invited to submit an extended abstract of 2 pages presenting a publishable result from their ongoing research.
Submission Guidelines
Submit a single PDF file formatted according to the official IEEE conference paper template:

2 pagesIEEE conference format, double-column, 10pt font. Accepted papers will be presented as posters.
Papers should present a publishable result from the student's ongoing research and include:
Submission Policy: By submitting an abstract, authors agree that at least one author will register and present their poster in person at the IEEE SWC 2026 conference.
Poster Session & Awards
All accepted 2-page papers will be featured in the congress program and presented as posters during a dedicated session, offering students direct engagement with the SWC community.
Poster Presentation
Every accepted paper must be presented as a poster. Format guidelines will be sent upon acceptance.
Best Poster Award
A panel of expert judges will evaluate all posters and award a prize to the top-rated presentation.
Registration
Participants in the PhD Forum register using the student registration fee. This fee grants full access to all IEEE SWC 2026 events, including co-located conferences, tutorials, keynotes, workshops, and special sessions.

Organized jointly within the PhD Forum, the PhD in ICT Day is a dedicated track exclusively for PhD students of the University of Calabria (UNICAL). This special session recognizes the participation of UNICAL doctoral students in the congress activities.
Target Students
Open to PhD students enrolled in the 39th, 40th, and 41st cycle of the PhD in ICT program at DIMES, University of Calabria.
3 CFU
Active participation in the PhD Forum and attendance at the related conference activities grants 3 academic credits.
